Sparrow Caregivers (from left) Tracy Farthing, Neuro Intensive Care Unit Manager, Becky Hayes, NICU RN, and Doreen Smith, NICU RN joined hundreds of transplant recipients, donor family members, Patients and Caregivers from across the state who gathered at the Capitol steps recently to celebrate the miracle of donation and transplantation.
The event, Donate Life Capitol Celebration, was put together by Gift of Life Michigan, a non-profit organization working 24 hours a day all over the state as a liaison between donors, hospitals and transplant centers.
More than 3,200 very sick Michigan residents are waiting today for organ transplants and a new shot at life. Thousands of others need tissue to relieve their pain, heal their wounds and help them see again. Learn more at giftoflifemichigan.org.
