Dads Don Dapper Duds, Draw $125K in Donations for Women's Health

Published: July 13, 2011

A record-setting $125,000 was raised during the second annual "Dapper Dads Challenge" and fashion show held recently at Kositchek's by Sparrow Foundation's Women Working Wonders (W3) Committee, more than tripling the amount generated at last year's premier event.

More than 400 people attended the fashion show (emceed by MSU Women's Basketball coach Suzy Merchant), watching 34 area business and professional leaders compete for the title of "Top Model" and helping the Sparrow Foundation's W3 Committee in its efforts to fund equipment and resources that support women's health in our region.

This year's top vote getters-and models-are Kenneth Stewart, Glenn Granger, Dan Warmels, Chris Holman, Kellie Dean, John Pirich, Pat McPharlin, Brig Sorber, Jim Robinson, Charles Janssen, Greg Brogan, Jim Epolito and Andre Hutson. Each will appear in a special "Dapper Dads Calendar" that will be available later this fall through the Sparrow Foundation and online at www.sparrow.org/dapperdads.

The Dapper Dads Challenge is organized by Women Working Wonders (W3). Since its inception in 2002, the committee has raised more than $800,000 to support the physical and psychological health of women in mid-Michigan.
