Dapper Dads voting to end, fashion show wraps up fundraiser

Published: June 6, 2016

Voting ends soon for the 2016 Dapper Dads Challenge, a popular Sparrow Foundation fundraising effort.

This year’s challenge features more than 40 of the mid-Michigan region’s most respected men kindly campaigning for votes.

“The Dapper Dads event is a wonderful way for the Greater Lansing community to support the great work of the Sparrow Foundation, and to have fun doing it,” said Stella Cash, Sparrow Vice President of Development and Strategic Partnerships. “We’re so fortunate to have these outstanding business professionals who step up year after year and participate in this event, raising money to support women’s health. Every year, we’re overwhelmed by the compassion and commitment they have for the cause, and the creativity they show in making each year better than the last.”

Dapper Dads is organized by W3 (Women Working Wonders), a committee of the Sparrow Foundation made up of dynamic professional women volunteers committed to supporting women’s health.

Anyone can cast a ballot for their favorite Dapper Dad by donating $5 per vote at SparrowFoundation.org/DapperDads. Online voting closes at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, June 8.

Proceeds will go toward meeting a $1 million pledge to Sparrow’s Herbert-Herman Cancer Center that is being built across from Sparrow Hospital on Michigan Avenue in Lansing.

The Dapper Dads Challenge culminates on Thursday, June 9 in a runway show at Kositchek’s in Downtown Lansing. Kositchek’s and the University Club of MSU have been partners in this event since inception. This year’s Runway Sponsor is Feldman’s Chevrolet of Lansing.

The top 13 finishers in the challenge will be featured in the 2017 Dapper Dads Calendar, available for purchase later this fall through the Sparrow Foundation.

The Sparrow Foundation supports Sparrow’s mission to provide Patients with quality, compassionate healthcare through funding for equipment, educational programs, services and research. The W3 committee has raised more than $2.2 million for women’s healthcare since 2002.
