Sparrow Neuroscience Nurse Chris Kettler, R.N., has become an inspiration to his peers. Working as a Nurse preceptor, Kettler has oriented Nurses, who are hired by the unit, and Nurse residents to ensure that they are prepared to provide quality, compassionate care to their Patients.

His dedication has earned him recognition as this month's RN Caregiver Spotlight. Sparrow's RN Caregiver Spotlight honors one Nurse each month and highlights his or her accomplishments.

Kettler has been with Sparrow for three years and has taken it upon himself to be a leader in his unit.

"Chris has been a wonderful role model for Nurses and nursing residents," said Meseret Hailu, Nurse Manager for Sparrow's Neuroscience unit. "He brings a teamwork mentality to his teachings and always provides positive, insightful feedback to everyone who works with him."

Kettler was the runner-up for Sparrow's prestigious Preceptor of the Year award. He will earn his BSN in nursing this spring.

"It's nice to be recognized, but it's even better to know we're making a difference in Patients' lives through the care we provide," Kettler said. "We're on the frontlines of Patient care and it's important for all Nurses and nursing residents to understand and appreciate what a remarkable responsibility that is. I'm thrilled to be working with such a talented team and such an eager group of residents."
