Former Sparrow pediatric patients perform “The Nutcracker”

Published: Nov. 20, 2014

Through a unique partnership with the Children’s Ballet Theatre (CBT) of Michigan, several children who have received pediatric services at Sparrow will take the stage at the Wharton Center in a production of the “The Nutcracker.”

This program allows children with physical limitations to practice and perform dance while helping to raise funds for pediatric services at Sparrow through the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMNH) campaign.

This year features seven guest dancers - five returning and two new - representing the CMNH.

Performances will take place Thanksgiving weekend at the Wharton Center on Friday, Nov. 28, and Saturday, Nov. 29, both at 7:30 p.m., and again on Sunday, Nov. 30, at 2 p.m. Another special show will be offered on Monday, Dec. 1, for school groups.

Tickets can be purchased online at www.cbtdance.org and www.WhartonCenter.com or by calling 1.800.Wharton.

The company members of CBT are also fundraising for CMNH and are encouraging every audience member to donate $1. All proceeds will stay local. Donation sites will be set up in the lobby.
