Free Sports Injury Clinic reopening for student athletes

Sparrow’s free Saturday Sports Injury Clinic is reopening to help keep student athletes in the game during the fall sports season.

The clinic provides services to help keep high school athletes healthy, including injury treatment, personalized home treatment plan instructions and referrals to Sparrow orthopedic surgeons as needed.

The clinic is held 9-11:30 a.m. every Saturday until Dec. 6, (except Nov. 29) at Sparrow Health Science Pavilion, Suite B102 (adjacent to the Michigan Athletic Club), 2900 Hannah Blvd., East Lansing.

No appointment is necessary and parents and athletes should bring their insurance information to the clinic.

The Sports Injury Clinic opened in 2009. The Sparrow Sports Medicine team is comprised of physicians, physician assistants and athletic trainers specializing in sports injury, who can assist in early treatment of sports injuries, which is important for a successful recovery and return to sports.
