Habitat for Humanity leader named to Sparrow Ionia Board

IONIA, MI – Sandra Pearson, President and Chief Executive Officer of Habitat for Humanity of Michigan, has been named to the Sparrow Ionia Hospital Board of Directors.

Pearson, of Portland, has been a leader in housing in Michigan and brings a lifetime of compassion and community involvement to the hospital board.

“Sandra embodies the spirit of community and brings talent, expertise and energy to the table,” said Sparrow Ionia Hospital President and CEO Bill Roeser. “We are very fortunate to have her by our side as we continue to expand and bring more healthcare services to the people of Ionia County.”

A graduate of Michigan State University’s Eli Broad College of Business, she began her career in housing with the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA), the state’s housing finance agency. Pearson is a recipient of the Terrence R. Duvernay Award, the state of Michigan’s Affordable Housing and Community Economic Development’s highest annual recognition.

In eight years with Habitat for Humanity of Michigan, she has provided leadership and housing advocacy and launched numerous initiatives.

Pearson and husband, Rob, have been married for 22 years and have three daughters who represent fifth-generation Portland St. Patrick School and Church members and third generation MSU Spartans.

The 13-member Sparrow Ionia Hospital Board oversees all operations of the hospital.
