LANSING, Mich. - Sparrow has launched a new smartphone mobile app that allows Sparrow Medical Group Family Practice Patients to access their medical records, send messages to their doctors, schedule appointments, request prescription renewals, and more.

The new MySparrow Mobile App is a key aspect of our iSparrow Electronic Medical Records (EMR) project, designed to empower Patients to be more active participants in the care process.

Recently ranked No. 1 nationally in health care technology and innovation by InformationWeek 500, Sparrow continues to be a leader in offering the latest technology along with nationally recognized quality and patient experience.

"We're very excited to launch this new app which will allow our Patients to access to their own health care in the palm of their hand from just about anywhere," said Tom Bres, Sparrow Vice President and Chief Information Officer. "MySparrow Mobile App allows users a broad range of functionality including a personalized health summary and even health screening reminders."

The app can be used by the iPhone and Android platforms.

To access the MySparrow App, Patients must first register with their doctor's office to obtain a Sparrow login ID. The app can then be downloaded from a cell phone provider's app store under MyChart. Once downloaded, users should select Sparrow as their health system, login, and start using. So far, about 15,000 Sparrow Patients have opened MySparrow accounts.
