Effective immediately, Karen Thomas has been promoted to Sparrow Medical Group, Director of Cardiovascular Practices. Thomas is currently the Sparrow Thoracic and Cardiovascular Institute Director of Operations.
Thomas has been in a leadership role at Sparrow TCI since 1993. She brings a wealth of experience to her new role and will be responsible for the operations of TCI, Sparrow Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery, the Interventional Radiology Practice and Sparrow Medical Group General Surgery Lansing.
Thomas is replacing Tom Mathieu, who recently retired. Mathieu had been in leadership roles at Sparrow for the last 14 years of his 39-year career in the health care industry, most recently as Administrative Director of Sparrow TCI. He is looking forward to spending more time with his grandchildren and at his cottage in northern Michigan.
