The Sparrow Foundation, Sparrow Caregivers, PNC bank and a few families gathered to celebrate the completion of a new Parent Resource Room in the Sparrow Children's Center.

The room offers a space for parents of children hospitalized at Sparrow to step away, recharge, and refresh.

PNC's $50,000 support to renovate and expand this space supports our belief that in times of a personal health crisis Sparrow becomes a comprehensive resource for a wide variety of needs, not simply a provider of medical care.

The Parent Resource Room features a lounge area with a sofa, recliner, television, magazines, an eating area and several computer stations to catch up with family, pay bills, and keep on top of life outside the hospital. It also offers a private shower and dressing area to freshen up.

The PNC Foundation actively supports efforts to yield stronger, smarter and healthier children, families and communities through their Grow Up Great Program and partnerships like this with Sparrow help to ensure children are healthy and school ready, even when sidelined by illness.
