PGA professionals to instruct Sparrow Health Classic golfers

Published: June 13, 2011

LANSING, Mich. -The Michigan Section of the PGA has partnered with the Sparrow Foundation to make this year's Sparrow Health Classic an unforgettable golfing experience. PGA Professionals will be on-hand to provide one-on-one instruction on the practice ranges prior to play for Health Classic golfers.

The Sparrow Health Classic will take place on Tuesday, June 28, at both Eagle Eye and Hawk Hollow Golf Courses. The Health Classic raises funds for the areas of greatest need at Sparrow - impacting the health of men, women, and children that come to Sparrow for care each day. The event caters to both serious and recreational golfers with the latest addition of a late shotgun at the 18-hole real-grass putt-putt course at Hawk Hollow.

"We are happy to help out with such a great event," said Michigan Section PGA President John Lindert. "This is our second year at the Sparrow Health Classic. It is a premier outing, a lot of fun for the golfers, and the proceeds benefit the health of people throughout the mid-Michigan region and beyond."

There will be several PGA Professionals available on both courses prior to the shotgun start providing participants with free pointers from both the practice range and putting greens. The Michigan PGA has also provided two tickets for the 2011 PGA Championship taking place at The Atlanta Athletic Club-John's Creek, Georgia in August. These tickets will be the grand-prize in the raffle held for attendees the day of the event.

"The PGA Professionals have been a wonderful addition to our outing," said Sparrow Foundation Interim Director Stella Cash. "Along with our golfers, sponsors, and volunteers, the PGA Pros make this exceptional day of golf one of our signature fundraising events of the year."
