2016 Princess and Hero Prom, family fun while raising funds

Published: April 14, 2016

Expect royalty and a superhero or two at the Princess and Hero Prom, hosted by the Carson Foundation on Friday, April 22, from 6-8 p.m.

Children and parents are encouraged to dress up as their favorite princess, prince, or superhero, or in their favorite dress-up outfits. There will be a photo booth, balloon animals, and a chance to win a two-night stay with four waterpark passes to Soaring Eagle Waterpark and Hotel.

“Since teens have proms, we thought it would be nice to provide younger children with the opportunity to attend a prom of their own. They can dress up, have fun with their family and help their community at the same time,” said Carson Foundation Executive Director Shelly Weaver.

The Carson Foundation will use proceeds from the event to purchase an infrared vein finder to improve Patient comfort during lab draws or when starting an IV. Items purchased from past events include safety helmets for Kids Health and Safety Day, first aid kits for the Carson City Police Department, and AED equipment for many area schools.

The Carson Foundation is dedicated to keeping health care services local so they are available when truly needed. For more information about the Carson Foundation, contact Shelly Weaver at 989.584.0979 or shelly.weaver@sparrow.org.
