Sparrow is encouraging its Caregivers and the public to get vaccinated.Caregivers can see their Leaders for information about Sparrow’s free flu shot clinics for Caregivers. The timing of influenza season is often unpredictable. Flu outbreaks can occur as early as October and continue until as late as May.
A flu shot is the safest, most effective way to protect our communities against the flu. Please protect yourself by getting vaccinated as soon as you can.
Flu vaccination can reduce flu illnesses, doctors’ visits, as well as prevent flu-related hospitalizations and deaths. Parents of young children, pregnant women, adults 65 and older, people with chronic health conditions and people who live with or care for them are at high risk for complications from the flu.
As a health care worker on the medical front lines, Caregivers need to know they are just as vulnerable as anyone for getting sick and spreading the flu to Patients, fellow Caregivers and family members.
It is now easier than ever to get your flu shot and to protect yourself and your family. For general information about influenza and influenza vaccines, visit the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s website or call 1.800.CDC.Info (1.800.232.4636).
