Congratulations to Sparrow Nurse Sarah Kuykendall, who received the prestigious DAISY Award!
Here's what the person who nominated Sarah had to say about her:
"At the beginning of her shift (hadn’t even received all her reports) Sarah responded to a patient situation. The patient was not assigned to Sarah and had become extremely agitated requiring a call to security. Sarah (before security arrived) went into the room, introduced herself and set expectations that she was there to help and aid the patient in solving and deescalating the situation. Sarah was able to calm this patient down and develop a relationship whit her. Sarah calmed this patient down enough to identify the patient's trigger and solve it. Security did no have to enter the room and the patient was spared that trigger."
