LANSING, MI – As the region's only Level 1 Trauma Center, Sparrow is proud to recognize the tremendous work and tireless efforts of firefighters, paramedics, EMTs, and all of the highly skilled EMS professionals throughout Mid-Michigan during National EMS Week, May 15-21.

To kick off the week of appreciation, Sparrow is teaming up with the Lansing Lugnuts to honor four outstanding EMS workers on the baseball diamond before a cheering Lugnuts crowd on Sunday, May 15, at Jackson Field.  They were among 59 caregivers nominated by the community to be recognized.

  • Michael Flood (Eaton Area EMS – Sparrow Eaton Hospital)
  • Brandon Baker (Lansing Mercy Ambulance)
  • Kayla Crim (Delhi Fire Department)
  • James Swindlehurst (Posthumously nominated. He was a career firefighter, paramedic, and an EMS instructor for Dewitt Township Fire and Lansing Mercy Ambulance, and passed away due to COVID.)
