CARSON CITY, MI – Sparrow Carson Hospital has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Hospital Accreditation Program by demonstrating continuous compliance with its performance standards. The Gold Seal is a symbol of quality that reflects a health care organization’s commitment to providing safe and quality patient care.
Sparrow Carson underwent a rigorous, unannounced onsite review May 7 – 10. During the visit, a team of Joint Commission reviewers evaluated compliance with Hospital Accreditation standards spanning several areas including emergency management, Patient standards of care, and infection prevention and control. “The Gold Seal of Approval by The Joint Commission affirms to our Patients we want the very best for them in quality of care and safety. Sparrow Carson Hospital was successful during this survey because of our Caregivers’ hard work and dedication, said William Roeser, Sparrow Carson Hospital President and CEO. The Joint Commission’s standards are developed in consultation with health care experts and providers, measurement experts and Patients. They are informed by scientific literature and expert consensus to help health care organizations measure, assess and improve performance. The surveyors also conducted onsite observations and interviews.

Sparrow Carson Hospital holds itself to the highest standards by constantly striving to meet or exceed accreditation standards. This is done by reviewing current policies and procedures and updating appropriately, and conducting mock drills and surveys, as well as conducting thorough assessments of each service line throughout each calendar year.
