Sparrow Carson Hospital names new Chief Operating Officer and Chief Nursing Officer

Barb McQuillan, MSA, BSN, RN, has been named as the new Chief Operating Officer and Chief Nursing Officer for Carson City-based Sparrow Carson Hospital, a Sparrow subsidiary.

McQuillan has over 17 years of leadership experience, most recently serving as the Director of Surgical Services for both the St. Lawrence and Sparrow Hospital campuses since 2010.

She brings with her a vast knowledge of both clinical and operational experience that will help Sparrow Carson navigate the changing health care environment and maintain the high level of quality and patient satisfaction that our organization has consistently provided, and our Patients have come to expect,” said Matthew Thompson, President and CEO of Sparrow Carson Hospital.

McQuillan completed her Master’s of Science in Administration from Central Michigan University in 2008 and has been a Registered Nurse since 1987.

Sparrow Carson Hospital includes a 61-bed acute care hospital with 16 physician practices and an impressive list of inpatient and outpatient programs, primarily serving Clinton, Gratiot, Ionia and Montcalm counties.
