Sparrow Carson Hospital surgeon and OB/GYN Michelle Becher, D.O., will receive the red carpet treatment in September when she is recognized for her contribution to a book compiling the success stories of inspirational entrepreneurs and professionals.

Dr. Becher, Chief of Minimally Invasive Surgery at Sparrow Carson, wrote a chapter for Soul of Success Vol. 2. She is due to receive a Quilly Award from the National Academy of Best-Selling Authors during a three-day event in Hollywood, Calif.

The book, due out in the fall, is a collection of success stories and also features Jack Canfield, author of the Chicken Soup for the Soul book series. Becher’s chapter focuses on relationships, which she views as the key to her success as a Sparrow Carson surgeon, OB/GYN and married mother of three.

At Sparrow Carson, Dr. Becher has built a positive, close-knit team of empowered and engaged Caregivers who strive to make Sparrow a leader in quality and Patient experience.

“I love what I do and my goal for everyone I come into contact with on every given day – whether that be a Patient, spouse, team member, or an OR crew – is to really listen and help them as best I can,” Dr. Becher said.

Becher, also a private practitioner, joined Sparrow Carson in 2001.

Sparrow Carson Hospital, in Carson City, is part of Sparrow Health System, mid-Michigan’s premier health care organization.
