Sparrow is pleased to announce it has chosen Mobile Medical Response (MMR) as its new ambulance service as part of its ongoing efforts to transform care delivery.
MMR will be providing transports between Sparrow facilities and support Critical Care Transport Teams for adult, pediatric, and neonatal critical care Patients.
MMR intends to bring a new fleet of vehicles to the Lansing area equipped with enhanced GPS technology to provide dispatchers and EMS personnel with the quickest and easiest transport routes.
"We spent months consulting with Physicians, Emergency Services Caregivers, community members, and affiliates, soliciting proposals from ambulance service providers throughout mid-Michigan before selecting MMR," said Linda Reetz, R.N., B.S.N., M.B.A., NE/C, Administrative Director of Sparrow Emergency Services. "MMR is committed to excellence as it centers on quality, safety, service, and value, in alignment with Sparrow's key goals."
The agreement will potentially bring dozens of jobs to the area. MMR has more than 500 employees working throughout 13 counties in Michigan.

Sparrow has a long-standing relationship with MMR, one of the most respected, accredited emergency transport companies in the region. MMR currently provides hundreds of Sparrow Patient transports annually.
MMR is scheduled to begin service on Jan. 1, 2014.
