ST. JOHNS, MI – Teresa Pickens, RN, has been named Sparrow Clinton Hospital’s 2018 Nurse of the Year for her warmth, sincerity and compassionate care on behalf of her Patients and fellow Nurses.
The most tenured Nurse at Sparrow Clinton, Pickens began her career in May 1981 as a Medical/Surgical and Special Care Nurse.
“I am so touched. Sparrow Clinton has been a great place for me to practice, and I love working with all of you,” Pickens told the audience at a special reception.
As a Nurse leader, Pickens has worked with the Nursing Education and Quality Council, chaired the Nursing Competency Skills Fair, facilitated strategic goals for Sparrow Clinton’s Nursing Department, and actively participated in the hospital’s prestigious Pathway to Excellence certification.
More than a year ago, Pickens expanded her role as a Nurse leader, sharing her expertise as a Clinical Nurse in the Emergency Department by becoming a mentor and preceptor to new Caregivers.
