LANSING, MI – Sparrow Health System and Hayes Green Beach Memorial Hospital in Charlotte have signed an affiliation agreement that supports a collaborative regional approach to community health improvement and service experience across Eaton County.
The Agreement, which took effect Oct. 1, will make HGB a formal affiliate of Sparrow Health System during a three-year transition period. HGB will retain its local board, which will work with the Sparrow Health System board to ensure the continuation of HGB’s mission to “enhance the health of the communities we serve.”
The affiliation enables Sparrow and HGB to further optimize resources, enhance and grow services, integrate care processes, connect clinical information systems, and provide greater value to communities in Eaton County. In addition, Sparrow and HGB will establish a community fund of $1 million to be managed through a new entity, Eaton Community Health, to support regional health and community vitality efforts.
Sparrow and HGB previously worked together under a nonexclusive contract for four years and will continue to build on many successes already implemented to date, such as collaborating on heart attack and stroke emergency care, cardiology services, and the hospitalist program.
HGB will continue to be led by Matt Rush, President and CEO, with the support of a strong Board, Medical Staff and Caregiver team, and an experienced and accomplished team of healthcare leaders.
