As part of Black History Month celebrations, Sparrow today hosted a traveling exhibit focusing on rare items signed by historical figures.

“Sparrow is committed to fostering an environment that promotes caring and respect among our Patients, Caregivers and the mid-Michigan region,” said Lori Adam Simon, Sparrow Diversity and Inclusion Community Advocate. “This is a great educational experience for all and we are excited to have the Black History 101 Mobile Museum back at Sparrow as we mark the beginning of Black History Month.”

The Black History 101 Mobile Museum boasts an award winning collection of more than 5,000 original artifacts of Black memorabilia. It has traveled to 23 states during the last decade. Prominent artifacts featured in the collection include rare documents signed by Martin Luther King, Jr., Malcolm X, Rosa Parks, and many others.
