Sparrow Ionia Hospital Foundation Board Vice President Tom Dickinson awards a $500 scholarship to Alli Brighton, a graduating senior from Lakewood High School.

The Sparrow Ionia Hospital Foundation has presented a $500 scholarship to Alli Brighton, a graduating senior from Lakewood High School, to help allow her to pursue a career in healthcare.

Alli plans on continuing her education at Grand Valley State University with the goal of becoming a Nurse.

The award was presented by Tom Dickinson, Foundation Board Vice President, at the recent Lakewood Senior Honors Night.

The Sparrow Ionia Hospital Foundation is a not-for-profit organization and has been providing scholarships for hospital Caregivers pursuing or continuing their education in healthcare for over 20 years. The goal is to help Caregivers achieve their healthcare educational goals and, in turn, encourage them to remain in the area and help bring quality, compassionate care to Ionia County.

The scholarship was extended four years ago to Ionia County graduating seniors looking to further their education in healthcare. The Foundation this year is awarding a $500 scholarship to at least one senior from each high school in the county.
