Sparrow patient stories highlight changes in local care

When Sparrow Physicians discovered Pat Brogan had a tumor pressing against her spinal cord, they consulted with Mayo Clinic Physicians to determine the best course of action.

Sparrow's membership in the prestigious Mayo Clinic Care Network allows Sparrow Physicians to consult with Mayo Clinic experts to provide some of the most advanced care in the nation in mid-Michigan.

"It gave me real peace of mind to know that there were many physicians of great skill taking care of me," said Brogan, of East Lansing. "And I didn't have to leave home or my family to receive this care."

Sparrow is launching a new campaign to promote our efforts to change healthcare for the better through new collaborations, innovative technology, our Nurse Magnet recognition for nursing excellence, and much more.

Through its membership in the Mayo Clinic Care Network and other efforts, Sparrow is transforming healthcare to change people's lives as the region's leader in innovative thinking and clinical excellence.

The first ad in the campaign will feature the story of Brogan, and future commercials will highlight other Patients and Sparrow Caregivers. The campaign will include TV, radio, billboards, and digital/mobile ads, and aims to ensure the community is aware of our Caregivers' efforts to achieve our mission of improving the health of the people in the communities we serve.

Sparrow is mid-Michigan's premier health care organization, featuring the region's only Level 1 Trauma Center and formal affiliations with Michigan State University's three human health colleges. Sparrow Hospital was recently awarded the Michigan Quality Leadership Award, the highest honor for organizational performance excellence in the state, and is one of only 6 percent of hospitals nationally to have earned the Nurse Magnet Distinction from the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
