LANSING, Mich. - Sparrow has launched a mobile version of its Sparrow.org website to allow users to more easily access and view information on their iPhones, Androids, BlackBerries, iPads and other mobile devices.
The mobile site is part of Sparrow's efforts to meet the public's evolving preferences for sharing and receiving information.
"The mobile site makes it easy to access information on Sparrow.org from any device," said Thomas Bres, Sparrow Vice President and Chief Information Officer.
"You can get it on an iPad, an iPhone, or any kind of tablet or mobile device - anytime, anywhere, is the approach that we're building," he said.
The mobile site automatically opens by visiting the same URL as Sparrow's regular website at Sparrow.org.
The mobile site's content is organized with four main tabs that feature a 'Find a Doctor' tool, maps and directions to Sparrow's facilities, visitor information, and a 'Contact us' page. The mobile site also has a Google application that allows users to search Sparrow.org. and shortcuts to Sparrow's social media pages on Facebook and Twitter.
In addition to the mobile site, Sparrow also has a new QR code for use in informational materials that users can scan to access information at Sparrow.org. A QR or "Quick Response" code is a specific matrix bar code, or two-dimensional code, that is readable by smartphones.
