Sparrow has been recognized as one of the “most connected” hospitals in the nation by U.S. News and World Report, reflecting Sparrow’s efforts to use innovation and technology to improve Patient care.

The roster of Most Connected Hospitals 2015-16 highlights 159 health care organizations committed to improving Patient experience and safety through clinical connectedness and digital technology.

“Innovation is one of our core values,” said Tom Bres, Sparrow Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer. “We are always striving to find new ways to improve the quality of health services. Sparrow’s use of digital data and electronic medical records are essential to helping transform care for our Patients. We are committed to being a technology leader in health care.”

Recognition was based on points awarded for hospitals’ responses to selected questions from the 2013 and 2014 American Hospital Association Annual Survey Information Technology Supplements. Initial eligibility required hospitals first to have been nationally ranked or rated as high performing by U.S. News in 2015-16 in Best Hospitals (for complex care), Best Hospitals for Common Care, or Best Children’s Hospitals.
