Lori Campbell, B.A., RN, and Kay Zink, BSN, RN, received awards at the Lansing State Journal’s 2015 Salute to Nurses Luncheon and Awards Ceremony. The annual Nurses Week event highlights the best Nurses and medical professionals in the great Lansing area.

Campbell, a Sparrow Home Care Nurse, received the Outstanding Long-Term/End-of-Life/Hospice Nurse Award. She said her love for people pushed her to become a Nurse.

“The Patients I have taken care of have left their mark on my heart and have shaped who I have become,” Campbell said.

Zink, an Outpatient Surgery Nurse at Sparrow, received the Extraordinary Community Service Award. She volunteers at the Mother Teresa House, which provides personal care to the dying, free of charge, and Resurrection Parish in Lansing.

“My choice to volunteer is simple,” Zink said. “I possess an inner need to give back in whatever way, shape or form.”
