LANSING, MI – Three Sparrow medical practices have earned top recognition from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and Blue Care Network, receiving Provider Distinction Awards for quality.
Sparrow Medical Group DeWitt, Sparrow Medical Group St. Johns, and Sparrow Medical Group North (located in East Lansing) were recognized for outstanding contributions to the BCN Advantage and Blue Cross Medicare Plus Blue PPO health care plans in 2015.
The practices met measures related to the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Service’s Star Quality Program. The St. Johns practice was honored for the third consecutive year.

Criteria for earning the Provider Distinction Award is based on a performance recognition program for care provided to Blue Cross Medicare Plus Blue PPO and BCN Advantage HMO-POS members. Practices must receive an 83 percent or higher composite quality score to be eligible for an award. Their contract must also be in good standing with no quality issues.
