Sparrow releases 2013 Community Health Needs Assessments

Published: May 21, 2013

Sparrow is proud to release its Community Health Needs Assessments for Sparrow Hospital, Sparrow Specialty Hospital, Sparrow Clinton Hospital and Sparrow Ionia Hospital.

The reports assess community health needs and will guide Sparrow as it adopts a strategy to address those needs. The reports are available at sparrow.org/CommunityHealthAssessment.

"We are thankful to the many people who provided time and assistance in helping us to identify the most important health needs, issues, and concerns throughout this region," said Stella Cash, Sparrow's Vice President for Development and Strategic Partnerships. "These assessments will help guide us as we work to achieve our mission of improving the health of the communities we serve."

Those who contributed to these assessments included health care consumers, health care professionals, community leaders, government officials, working people, retirees, educators, community organization staff, and others.

The Healthy! Capital Counties collaborative conducted the underlying community health needs assessment work upon which this report is based.

Healthy! Capital Counties is a collaborative of health department and hospital partners, along Michigan State University and other health-related organizations. Health departments include Ingham County, Barry-Eaton and Mid-Michigan Districts.
