Sparrow showered with baby girls

It's raining. That's old news. But on Wednesday, April 10, Sparrow Hospital was showered with baby girls.

Between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., two sets of twins and one set of triplets were born in the Sparrow Labor and Delivery unit, all of them girls.

"It was a very busy day already, especially with three sets of multiples. But to have all seven of them turn out to be girls is quite surprising. We're tickled pink!" said Helene Pariseau-Racey, Sparrow Labor and Delivery Manager.

The new moms and their daughters are doing well and will be released in a few days.

In all, more than 20 babies were born on Wednesday, nearly twice a normal day in Labor and Delivery.

Sparrow is mid-Michigan's most popular birthing center, delivering about 4,000 babies a year. For more information on Sparrow's Birthing Services, visit sparrow.org/birthing.
