Michael Zaroukian, M.D., Sparrow Vice President and Chief Medical Information Officer, recently participated in a web-based discussion held by one of the most influential and trusted think tanks in the country, the Brookings Institution.

Dr. Zaroukian live-tweeted, as a panelist, posting comments on Twitter during the event, and was featured in a webcast. He provided input about the future of health information technology, how essential it is to clinicians and Patients in transforming care, and the role it plays in advancing federal policy.

Last year, Dr. Zaroukian was appointed to a prestigious federal information technology workgroup to help shape national health care policy and incentive programs. Members make recommendations on standards, implementation specifications and certification criteria for sharing and using health information electronically.
