Lieu Hoangtran and Dat Do of Mason celebrated their second wedding anniversary by welcoming the New Year’s birth of a daughter, the first Sparrow baby of 2016.

The baby girl was born at 5:34 a.m. and weighed in at 6 pounds, 2 ounces. She was delivered by LaKeeya Dotson Tucker, D.O., Residents Sheila Drnec, D.O. and Sarah Hagle, M.D., and Nurses Sarah Deleeuw, R.N. and Patricia Ratell, R.N.

The couple is here on a work study program from their home country of Vietnam. Father, Dat Do, is a recent Michigan State University graduate, where his wife is still a student. He is currently in route back from Vietnam to be with his wife and new daughter.

“This is a very special gift for me and for her dad,” said Lieu Hoangtran.
