The safety of Sparrow Patients and Caregivers is our most important priority. Our health and safety experts have been working for months on a readiness plan related to the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD).
We are confident we are prepared to respond to any suspected EVD cases and to protect the health and safety of our Patients and Caregivers in the process.
Sparrow stands ready to respond with safety and urgency regarding suspected EVD cases and to continue our mission of improving the health of the people in our communities, as we have for 118 years.
Training is underway for Caregivers with the highest potential for contact with any possible EVD Patients. We are specifically focusing on Caregivers who work at our key access points, such as the Emergency Department, but we are communicating with our thousands of Sparrow Caregivers.
A Sparrow task force is working in close collaboration with the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Michigan Department of Community Health (MDCH) to ensure proper preparations, training and procedures are in place.
