The Sparrow Children's Center became a little more spooky and a lot more fun for young Patients and their families during a Halloween party sponsored by Spirit Halloween stores today.
The party is part of the company's "Spirit of Children" program that brings fun for children in hospitals. Spirit Halloween has locations across the country - including one in the Lansing Mall - and has donated nearly $60,000 to Sparrow since 2007.
"The Halloween season is a magical time of year. It's about seeing smiles on children's faces and hearing their laughter," said Heather Golin, Director Special Projects for Spirit Halloween. "Spirit of Children allows us to bring some of that magic to pediatric patients and their families who otherwise wouldn't be able to celebrate."
People can still get in on the fun and support Sparrow kids by using "Spirit of Children" coupons until Oct. 20. The coupons give customers 10 percent off and Spirit Halloween donates 10 percent of proceeds to Sparrow and other hospitals.
