In spirit of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, sorority and foundation donate iPads to Sparrow patients

What: In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day and its message of service, the Lansing chapter of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and the Pearls of Excellence Foundation are donating iPads to Sparrow patients to help them stay in contact with their families during the pandemic. Leaders of the sorority and the foundation will present the iPads to Sparrow leaders. Also planning to attend are U.S. Rep. Elissa Slotkin and state Rep. Sarah Anthony.  Interviews available with those attending, along with video of a brief ceremony.

Where: Outdoors at the Women Working Wonders courtyard in front of the Sparrow Plaza Building (Sparrow Herbert-Herman Cancer Center), 1140 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing. Media may park in Ramp B, which adjoins the Cancer Center.
