LANSING, MI – Care to share your spare hair?

The 4th Annual Sparrow Children’s Center Hair-a-Thon in honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month is Saturday, Sept. 15, from 9 a.m. to noon in the main lobby of Sparrow Hospital, 1215 E. Michigan Avenue, Lansing.

Stylists will be on site to cut hair to be donated to Michigan-based organizations that provide free wigs for children and adolescents who have lost their hair due to cancer treatment or other causes. Walk-ins are welcome but there are a limited number of appointment slots. Free parking is available.

Minimum donation length is eight inches and hair must be clean and in good condition. Monetary donations and previously cut ponytails and braids are welcome.
