The American Academy of Pediatrics continues to support the evidence that breastfeeding protects infants against a variety of diseases such as:
- diarrhea
- ear infections
- bacterial meningitis
- respiratory tract infection
- urinary tract infection
- diabetes
- childhood obesity
There are also health benefits for mothers who breastfeed including:
- decreased postpartum bleeding
- earlier return to pre-pregnancy weight
- decreased risk of breast and ovarian cancers

This unique service offers thirty minutes with a Physician (the only Physician consultation available in the area) and 30 minutes with an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant.Appointments are by Physician referral through CareMatch for Kids at 1.855.717.KIDS (5437) or 517.364.5710.
Every Tuesday and Friday | 8 a.m to 3 p.m. by appointment.
