Come join our dance academy for a fun-filled movement experience! We combine an art form with exercise to help one understand the true beauty of self-expression and nonverbal communication. The dance academy offers an extensive variety of dance classes to meet your interests.
Ballroom Dance Social
The MAC is restarting its popular Latin, swing, and ballroom dances. Practice the skills you've learned in class, meet new friends, and have fun at this dance party. Whether you're a seasoned dancer or have never danced a day in your life, everyone is welcome. Dance the night away, socialize, and chat with our amazing dance instructors Mary and Jerry. If you don't have a partner, don't worry, you can still be part of this fun event.

Beginning Cha Cha
A flirtatious and cheeky dance. A real crowd pleaser and fun to do anywhere you can find a dance floor.
Beginning East Coast Swing
The swing is a must learn dance. Learn the fundamentals and get your dancing hobby started out on the right foot. As a non-progressive and circular dance the swing is convenient on any jam packed dance floor.
Beginning Foxtrot
Foxtrot is smooth and sexy. One of the most versatile ballroom dances can be danced to songs such as Witchcraft (Sinatra), Just in Time (Darren), and The Best is Yet to Come (Bennett).
Beginning Hustle
Hustle is one of the most popular dances today and is today’s version of disco dancing. You won’t want to miss it. This class will use fun, upbeat and well known songs!
Beginning Nightclub Two Step
This slow, romantic, floating dance features "rock steps" and long glides across the dance floor to songs like "Lady In Red."
Beginning Rhumba
Rhumba, meaning ‘to go to parties’, is a very popular, slow, sensual, dance form and is one of the major ballroom dances and many of the dance moves work in the Cha Cha as well as other dances.
Beginning Salsa
An upbeat Latin dance that is easy to learn! It began in the 1970’s when dancers started mixing the Mambo and the Hustle. Bachata, Merengue, Cumbia, Cha-Cha and Mambo are all “sister” dances of Salsa.
Beginning Samba
The Samba is a colorful dance with Brazilian roots. The dance has a lively style with a mix of African and Brazilian rhythms. The basic count is 1 &2 and the dance combines Latin rhythms with swing. Samba is fast paced at approximately 96 to 100 beats per minute.
Beginning Texas Two Step
The country/western two-step, often called the "Texas two-step" or simply the "two-step," is a country/western dance usually danced to country music in common time. ... As with other country/western dances, there are different versions of two step. This classes uses the quick, quick, slow, slow count.
Beginning WALTZ
Beautifully constructed, this class will focus on mastering the classic 18 count dance element which will allow students to gracefully glide across the floor.
Beginning West Coast Swing
Now one of the most popular forms of swing dance, the West Coast Swing has swept through the US. Slow and elegant or fast and furious, this class will be sure to reach your dance expectations.

Dance MACademy
Join us this upcoming school year for our very own Sparrow MAC Dance Academy, or as we call it- the Dance MACademy! Whether you are new to dance or have some dance training, the Dance MACademy is the place for you to learn different dance styles, hone your technique, and expand your performance presence as well as creativity!
