Our Philosophy

At Sparrow, our team of registered dietitians teach classes based in culinary medicine principles. We blend of the art of food and cooking with the science of medicine. Culinary medicine is aimed at helping people reach good personal medical decisions about accessing and eating high-quality meals that help prevent and treat disease and restore well-being. The objective of culinary medicine is to attempt to empower our clients to care for themselves safely, effectively, and happily with food and beverage as a primary care technique. We know the same diet does not work for everyone. Different clinical conditions require different meals, foods, and beverages.  Our approach is to give special attention to how food works in the body as well as to the sociocultural and pleasurable aspect of eating and cooking.

Snacks can fit into your daily meal plan and provide you with the energy you need between meals. Include whole grains, healthy fats and lean proteins in a variety of snacks to keep you fuller longer.
