5W Caregivers bring Halloween treats to Children's Center

Published: Oct. 21, 2015

The Sparrow Children’s Center had some unusual guests this week, as Caregivers from 5W showed up in full Halloween regalia to bring holiday treats and surprises to our pediatric Patients.

Cats and cows were joined by the likes of Pocohontas, Superman, and Scooby Doo as the festive troop went door to door handing out goodie bags and bringing smiles to tiny faces and their families.

The Caregivers stuffed the bags themselves with a mind-boggling array of treats that they’d each brought in for the event. Other bags were filled with fun nonfood items for those with special dietary needs.

The surprise visit was a great addition to the Halloween season. Last week Sparrow’s youngest Patients were treated to an annual holiday party sponsored by Spirit Halloween.

For more than a century, Sparrow has been a leader in caring for children. The first hospital in mid-Michigan to offer a dedicated children’s unit, Sparrow today is home to the region’s only full-service pediatric emergency department. As the region’s Children’s Miracle Network Hospital, Sparrow is able to provide the most advanced technology and treatment options in pediatric and neonatal care.
