In difficult times, you can rely on Sparrow
No one wants to find themselves facing a medical emergency. But even in the tensest moments, you can trust the experts at Sparrow to provide the highest quality emergency care to you or your loved one. With our team of top specialists, we’re ready to respond to any and all emergencies.
For example, E.W. Sparrow Hospital is home to Mid-Michigan’s only verified Level 1 Trauma Center. That means we’re prepared to provide total care to the most complex injuries — and we’re the top destination for critically injured adult and pediatric patients from across the region.
E.W. Sparrow Hospital is also Michigan’s first certified Comprehensive Stroke Center — one of only 20 across the country. Likewise, E.W. Sparrow Hospital has been designated a Cardiac Center of Excellence, thanks to a team of nationally recognized cardiovascular experts, the most advanced cardiac catheterization technology available, and excellent patient outcomes and satisfaction.
Whichever Sparrow Emergency Room you visit, you can feel confident knowing the connected Sparrow system is at the ready to provide whatever level of care you need.

In the worst emergencies, Sparrow will call in our air medical transport service. We partner with the University of Michigan Health System’s Survival Flight for 24/7 helicopter service. A team of experienced flight nurses provides life-saving intervention in the air while staying in constant communication with your Sparrow emergency care team on the ground.
Personalized care for pediatric patients
We know the emergency room can be scary for kids. While taking your child to the emergency room is never going to be easy, we can make it less stressful at the Granger Pediatric Emergency Department, Mid-Michigan’s first and only emergency room designed for children and young adults from birth to age 20.
Here, you can turn to physicians who are specially trained in pediatric emergencies as their top focus. The staff also includes certified child life specialists, who are uniquely qualified to help children deal with health-related trauma and provide comfort during times of stress. Plus, the decor is colorful and kid-friendly, and the equipment is kid-sized, setting your little one at ease.
