Patient Rights & Safety

Respecting you so you can trust us with your care

Sparrow Health System recognizes that we all have basic rights, and we are committed to honoring these rights to ensure everyone is treated with dignity, respect, and compassion. Likewise, Sparrow has a right to expect reasonable and responsible behavior from patients, their relatives, and friends.

Hospital care involves a unique partnership between the patient, family, physician, and hospital staff based on mutual trust and respect. Respecting your rights and responsibilities is the first step in establishing a trusting relationship.

In accordance with Michigan Compiled Laws Annotated (MCLA), Sparrow has adopted rights and responsibilities that apply to all patients, including neonates, children, adolescents, and adults.
