Accident Fund is donating $50,000 over the next five years to the Sparrow Foundation fund for Occupational Health Services (OHS) to be used for the prevention and medical treatment of work-related injuries.

Sparrow's OHS Department currently treats 18,000 Patients per year and works with more than 500 Lansing-area employers.

"This donation will allow us to continue to improve the health of workers and businesses throughout mid-Michigan," said Stella Cash, Vice President of Development and Strategic Partnerships. "Both Sparrow and Accident Fund are committed to ensuring the prevention of workplace injuries and the continued safety of all workers."

Sparrow OHS is the region's only hospital-based healthcare program that provides occupational health services to businesses. Occupational health programs provide a comprehensive approach to the healthcare needs of employers by offering a continuum of care for work-related injuries, as well as injury prevention and wellness programs.

"Accident Fund is proud to make this donation," said Michael Britt, president of Accident Fund Insurance Company of America. "Similar to Sparrow's mission of keeping employees well and on the job, Accident Fund is dedicated to helping employers create safer work environments; protecting their organizations from unpredictable, and often significant, costs related to workplace injuries; and helping injured workers return to as normal a life as possible, as quickly as possible."

Sparrow and Accident Fund have worked together for nearly two decades to support the health of our community.
