Mayen Mading, a CT Scan Technician at E.W. Sparrow Hospital, goes above and beyond to treat every patient with compassion and dignity, often taking extra time to explain why the tests are so important when a patient is anxious or afraid.
“To provide quality care to someone, you actually have to be a caring person. You can’t act it out,” Mayen says. “I am here to help people and that’s what drives me every day.”
Mayen does whatever it takes to help patients get the best diagnostic test results possible, even taking on the role as counselor for those who need a calming presence. That’s one reason Mayen is this month’s Caregiver Spotlight.
