Sparrow Caregivers' talents extend beyond providing quality Patient care, and those talents will be on display during the annual Sparrow Caregiver Variety Show March 23.

The show is a fundraiser that benefits the Care for the Caregivers Fund, which helps Caregivers who have experienced a major loss, catastrophe, illness, or medical condition affecting their well-being.

"The Caregiver Variety Show is always an evening full of fun and entertainment for our performers and audience," said organizer Pauline Stebbins. "This year, we have more performers than ever, including a tap dancer, juggler, bands, singers and other musicians performing."

Among the performers will be Keith Kocher, a veteran Sparrow pharmacist and professional magician and hypnotist who can make a card disappear or put a dozen people under a hypnotic trance.

Kocher performs 5-10 shows a month throughout the country in between his full-time work at the Inpatient Pharmacy at Sparrow Main and St. Lawrence campuses.

"I love being a pharmacist," Kocher says. "There's the side of helping people get better. That's why I chose the hospital setting.

"For me, entertainment is an outlet."

The Caregiver Variety Show will be held at 7 p.m. at the Hannah Community Center, 819 Abbot Road, East Lansing. Tickets are $7 at the door.
