Sparrow Nurse Leader Christine Jodoin, MSN, RN, NE-BC, has been appointed as Vice President of Nursing.
She joins Sparrow's new Senior Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer Mary Lou Wesley, RN, MSN, in leading Sparrow's more than 2,000 Nurses as they strive to fulfill our mission of providing quality, compassionate care to every Patient, every time.
"Chris has been part of Sparrow's excellent reputation for high quality, Patient-centered care for more than 15 years, and she's the perfect fit for this position," said Wesley. "Her leadership will guide our Nurses as they to achieve amazing outcomes for our Patients in the coming years."
Jodoin joined the Sparrow team as a new Nurse in 1998. Among her many roles, she has managed the Cardiac Progressive Care Unit, served as Director of Med/Surg and has recently served as Interim Executive Director of Nursing.
She has been nationally certified as a nurse executive for more than 5 years. She was deeply involved in the development of the Dedication Education Unit (DEU) with Michigan State University which teams MSU nursing students with Sparrow Nurses, giving students the opportunity to learn how to provide compassionate clinical care in real time.
By consistently going above and beyond, our Nurses have helped Sparrow become part of the 6 percent of nationwide hospitals to receive Magnet Recognition. This designation is the nation's most prestigious honor for nursing achievement and excellence and is considered the "gold standard" for nursing care in hospitals.
