In remembrance of the late Tom Auvenshine and his courageous battle with cancer, his family donated $5,000 to Sparrow's oncology unit to help fight the disease.
Tom was a farmer and UPS employee from Charlotte who fought cancer at Sparrow Hospital.
His family has started an annual golf scramble in remembrance of him, "Tee Off For Tom." The outing raises money for cancer research and treatments and honors the Caregivers who helped Tom.
