Christie Herrick, LMSW, a licensed social worker and manager of Sparrow’s Behavioral Health Unit, goes above and beyond to make sure vulnerable populations get the care they need in a safe and supportive environment.
“We have a lot of need for mental health support in our community,” says Christie, who oversees social workers at Sparrow Hospital and at the Sparrow St. Lawrence Campus. “The thing I love the most is being with people, helping people, helping vulnerable populations.”
As a manager, Christie makes it a priority to support her staff so they can provide the best possible care for patients, recently volunteering to work a night shift to make sure everyone was safe.
“For me, it was something simple that I could do,” said Christie. “I have a great group of people and this is a great organization. I can’t imagine being anywhere else.”
