FREE Sparrow Event Promotes Heart Health for Heart Month

CHARLOTTE, MI – Sparrow Eaton Hospital invites community members to attend a FREE, interactive heart health event featuring a panel of local clinicians and experts to celebrate American Heart Month.

The event takes place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 1, at AL!VE and includes free blood pressure checks, free lunch (salads courtesy of NOURISH café at AL!VE, featuring Pritikin salad dressings), a panel presentation and Q&A.

Attendees will learn preventative measures they may take to improve their cardiovascular health. A panel of highly skilled clinical experts, including Christopher D’Haem, M.D., Sparrow Thoracic Cardiovascular Institute physician; Abbie DeForest, clinical exercise physiologist; Hayley Walker, registered dietitian; and Ashley Dykstra, Pritikin intensive cardiac rehab representative, will share information and examples of the leading-edge care they provide. Patient testimonials will also be shared and those attending will have an opportunity to ask questions.

Cardiopulmonary rehabilitation offered at AL!VE is an outpatient medical program that assists patients with various cardiac and pulmonary conditions through traditional and intensive approaches.
