Ionia Caregiver Receives BEE Award for Teamwork and Support

Published: October 3, 2023

IONIA, MI – Sparrow Ionia Hospital has honored one of our medical assistants with the BEE Award for their support for the team and willingness to help others.

Nominated by fellow caregivers, Casey Smith, medical assistant at Sparrow Medical Group Saranac, received the BEE Award for her positive attitude and compassionate care towards patients. Smith has worked for Sparrow since 2018.

“Casey is a hardworking member of the team,” said Kasie Rockey, practice manager at Sparrow Medical Group Saranac. “She devotes extra time and effort to ensuring patients receive quality and compassionate care. She is always willing to help others with a cheerful attitude.”

The BEE Award recognizes excellence among clinical support caregivers who work alongside nursing teams to deliver quality, compassionate care. BEE is an acronym for Be Exceptional Every day. Acknowledging the strength behind teamwork, the BEE Award is often given in conjunction with the DAISY Award for outstanding nursing care to symbolize the relationship between nursing and clinical support caregivers - the same way bees and flowers depend on one another.
